We’re excited to introduce a powerful set of updates designed to streamline your workflow, increase transparency, and give you greater control over your business. From adjustments & bonuses to a new commission settings hub, improved traveler forms, and usability enhancements, these updates make Tern even more flexible and efficient.

Adjustments & Bonuses for Agencies

Managing agency finances just got easier and more precise. Agency admins can now log costs and expenses from suppliers and agents—even when they’re not tied to a specific booking.

  • Agent Payout Adjustments – Apply positive or negative adjustments, such as sales milestone bonuses or fees for unclaimed bookings.
  • Statement Adjustments – Add adjustments and bonuses at the statement level, whether linked to an agent or not.

Adjustments connected to an agent will be visible in agent reports for full transparency. These updates provide better financial accuracy, reduce manual workarounds, and create a more streamlined accounting process. Learn more here

New Agency Commission Settings Page

We’re making commission management more flexible and automated. With the new Agency Commission Settings page, you can:

  • Set a Default Payout Date based on travel start date, travel end date to delay payout eligibility. You can also keep the commission received date as the default. 
  • More commission settings are coming soon! 

These improvements help agencies maintain more control, reduce manual tracking, and streamline the reconciliation process. Learn more here.

Required Traveler Birthdate & Middle Name Field

To improve traveler details and reduce booking issues, we’ve made two key updates to the Trip Request Form:

  • Birthdate is now a required field.
  • Middle name is now included as optional.

These changes help minimize back-and-forth, simplify the booking process, and save time.

Usability Improvements & Enhancements

We’ve made a few other updates to make Tern faster and easier to use:

  • Clicking anywhere on an activity on the client itinerary now opens full details, so you no longer have to click "View Details" precisely.
  • A new Visibility Column in the Documents Table clarifies which documents are visible to travelers.
  • Better Copy/Paste for Text & Images—now you can paste directly into itinerary descriptions without losing images or formatting.
