Email Collaboration, Trip Pricing Visibility, and Other Improvements

We’re back with another exciting product update, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to share what we’ve been working on lately. From enhancing trip collaboration to refining pricing features, these improvements are designed to make your day-to-day workflows even more seamless and efficient. Let's dive right in!

Unlocking Better Trip Collaboration with Email

Collaboration just got better. For the first time, Tern now displays all emails related to a trip, even if you're a trip collaborator and not the trip owner. This new feature brings visibility to every relevant communication without switching platforms, making it easier to stay informed about all client interactions.

  • As a collaborator, you can view all emails connected to a trip that were initiated by the owner or tagged to the trip. This will help you understand the context and flow of communications, even if you weren’t directly involved.
  • What's coming next? In the next few days, we’ll roll out an exciting update that will allow collaborators to send new emails directly from the trip. This means no more hopping between platforms—email your clients straight from Tern!

Simplified Pricing Visibility

One of the most-requested features is finally here! We’ve introduced a new pricing toggle that allows you to control what trip prices your clients can see. Whether you're early in the sales process or simply don't want to overwhelm the traveler with pricing details, you now have three visibility options:

  1. Show all prices – Transparent and itemized pricing for the traveler.
  2. Show the trip total only – Display the total cost, without breaking down specific expenses.
  3. Hide all prices – Completely remove pricing information from the client’s view.

This flexibility ensures that pricing displays only when it’s relevant to the trip or the traveler, offering a much cleaner and more tailored experience.

New Features to Simplify Workflows

We've also rolled out several smaller, but highly impactful features aimed at streamlining your workflows:

  • Quick Payout Summaries: You can now see the total payout amount directly on the Agent Payouts tab when filtering for specific agents or bookings. This is a huge time-saver, especially when preparing payroll or reviewing commission reports.
  • Cleaner Itinerary Views: For trips with many travelers, we’ve simplified the display of avatars to avoid clutter. Instead of showing every traveler’s avatar, you’ll now only see the first three, with the total number of travelers still displayed.

Coming Soon: Customizable Payment Dates

Another highly anticipated update is on its way! We’re addressing a top request—the ability to adjust the date of payments after they've been marked as paid. You’ll soon be able to customize the payment date for each transaction, making record-keeping more accurate. This will also apply retroactively, allowing you to update any past payments that were incorrectly dated.

We’ll be backfilling these dates based on the original timestamp when you marked the item as paid, but you’ll have full control to make any adjustments moving forward.

Additional Improvements

We’ve also tackled several other important improvements:

  • Flight Status for Code-Share Flights: Notifications around delays and cancellations now work more reliably for code-share flights, where multiple airlines operate the same flight.
  • Hotel Database Syncing: We’ve improved our syncing with Giata, the hotel database, to minimize stale data and ensure more consistent information.
  • Bug Fixes: We resolved an issue where travelers experienced errors when taking quick actions on trip itineraries before the page had fully loaded.
