Welcome back, Tern community! Excited to share all the latest updates from the past week 🙂

Commission Tracking Dashboard for Advisors and Agents

I could not be more excited to announce our new commission tracking dashboard! When we first launched commission tracking for agencies, we immediately started to hear requests for advisors to have their own version. And on the agent side, agencies really needed a way to transparently share the status of commission and payouts through the product.

New commission tracking dashboard:

  • Supports tracking and exporting commission data across all booked activities (including insurance and trip packages)
  • Advisors can log supplier or host agency payments, track down overdue commission, and more. Learn more.
  • Agents whose agency uses Tern can see the status of commission & payouts automatically. Learn more.

We’re also working on a reporting dashboard that will allow you to see sales data, received commission, and expected commission over time. Keep an eye out for it in my next update!

Additional Improvements

Flight Status Updates

Building on our recent update for real-time flight notifications, we’ve now implemented weekly checks for schedule changes further out from departure. Here’s what’s new:

  • Weekly Schedule Updates: You’ll receive an email on Monday mornings if there are changes to flight schedules outside of the 72-hour “real-time” update window.
  • Weekly Out of Sync Flight Updates: If a flight becomes out of sync (e.g., due to a flight number change or other factors), you’ll be notified to take action. You can delete the impacted flight leg and add the correct flight details to ensure you continue receiving updates.

Bug Fixes and Enhancements

As always, the team has been hard at work on bug fixing and quality improvements! Notable fixes include trip filters not always sticking with table sort, and not using ‘smart match’ on preferred names to update (vs create) new contact records via forms.

We’ve also been doing some significant behind the scenes work to improve the speed of the site. This will be an ongoing effort to make sure Tern is easy to use as we scale to more advisors and trips over time.

That’s it for this week’s update! Thanks for tuning in, and I look forward to hearing your feedback.
