Welcome back, Tern community! Excited to share all the latest updates from the past week 🙂

Flight Status Updates

In case you missed it at our webinar last week, we couldn’t be more excited to announce that we’ve launched flight status updates! Here’s what it includes:

  • New flight experience: including a cleaner design for flights, 300+ airline logos, and delay and cancellation information directly on the itinerary + flight.
  • Advisor email updates: get notified of delays, cancellations, and schedule changes 72 hours before a flight, with weekly updates for flights further out coming soon.
  • Traveler alerts: clients can opt-in to push and/or email notifications about gate changes, flight changes, and cancellations.

Tern AI Assist

We’ve introduced a new AI model to assist with building itineraries, parsing details, and more. Here’s what’s new:

  • 4x longer output now supported
  • Descriptions copied more accurately
  • More accurate parsing and fewer failures (so far!)
  • Included with Tern forever at no extra cost (may change for future AI features)

New Commission Statuses

We’ve made significant changes to how commission statuses are tracked, laying the groundwork for future updates like advisor commission and reporting dashboards. Here’s what’s new:

  • Status is determined based on expected dates / received payments
  • New ‘received commission’ section on activities
  • New commission overview that breaks down status by trip
  • These updated statuses are showcased in trip pricing

Additional Improvements

  • Guidance for payment due date automations: we’ve added helpful guidance when setting up automations to remind clients of upcoming payments. This should clarify why some reminders might not trigger as expected.
  • Info blocks are included in form PDF receipts: based on your feedback, we’ve ensured that info block content now appears in PDF receipts for forms, which is especially important when using e-signatures.
  • Added XPF currency: we’re continuing to enhance our supported currencies - keep the requests coming!
  • No more suppliers with url titles: we’ve blocked the creation of suppliers with URLs in their titles to prevent database clutter.
  • Bug Fixes: Notably, we resolved an issue where large font sizes on Android devices were preventing travelers from getting past the flight status update notifications screen.
